Travelodge Wall was great. It's cheap, has an outdoor swimming pool, and is right off the highway. The Badlands National Park is right down the road and it is also conveniently located within walking distance to a few restaurants and a gas station.
This was a fine place to sleep for a night. Everything was clean and they had convenient and modern outlets, including USB ports near the beds for charging cables. Breakfast was pretty lame, but you can't expect much at a place like this. My only real complaint was a lack of hot water. I hopped in the shower at 6 am and the water was hot for less than two minutes. And I was the lucky one who got up early to go first; no one else in my room got any hot water for showers.
They're in the slow season right now, so no one available at the front desk - the Days Inn across the street handles their check in for the slow months. Makes sense, and didn't hinder our check in experience. We never saw anyone working, which was a little strange, but not bad.
Door was impossible to open, had to turn handle upwards all the way to open it. Heater was good, over all for a motel. Decent dang place.
For a place to crash for a few hours, it's quite nice.
Charged my card although I paid cash. Then argued about it till we told them to Check their financial transactions on computer. She then realized she did charge us twice. Poor customer service.
The hotel is a remodeled Motel 6, but it's very updated and modern looking. Nice, comfy beds, good bedding, great TV lineup, good water temp. The water has been softened, which makes it feel a bit slimy, but it's not especially gross when you know what it is. The water makes everything taste funny, though. Don't get the juice at breakfast. Coffee was okay.
